SEEK THE REALM
The Quest for Realm series is created in three stages: external exploration of physical landscapes, introspection of life itself, and ultimate spiritual enlightenment.
Using static black-and-white woodcut prints, it interprets the dynamic spiritual journey in pursuit of realm, echoing the threefold Zen state of “mountains are still mountains”.
In its final phase, black, white and gray are no longer opposites but merge into a philosophy of gradation. Rocks, trees and architecture shed their concrete attributes and evolve into symbolic spiritual totems, intended to guide the viewer into a state of “selflessness”.
